The Attack had nothing to do with Airline problems. It exposed a critical weakness in our economic system.
Deregulation is THE PROBLEM.
Not having an alternate NATIONAL RAIL TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM, (Amtrak is too limited), we suffer economic shortfalls.
Improving Rail Transportation has to be a National, NOT-FOR-PROFIT, Program.
Good, widespread Rail Transportation would eliminate need for Mexican and Canadian Trucks to ruin our highways. We are far behind the Europeans, as far as local and/or regional rail transportation. Outrageous costs for oil and gasoline make regional railroads a vital requirement, if our economy is to grow.
