On the way to Berlin on State Hiway 361 that goes to Gabb. The Mineworks and Mill, in the background, is a current gold mining operation.
This road is the one you take to the Ichthyosaur State Park where you may see the fossils of the sea monster that existed here, eons ago, when all this was a Great Sea. Today, it is the Great Basin

This unpaved road is the approach from the Ichthyosaur State Park, located about five miles from Berlin.

The Berlin Ore Mill with its gigantic stamping machinery could make a pick and shovel miner rich, if he found a rich vein.
The mill can be viewed through the large windows on the west side. One can see the remnants of the giant stamps that were moved when everything else was left behind, as the town was abandoned.

A prosperous mine works now abandoned.
This mine, close to the mill, was one of the more prosperous strikes in Berlin. The Mill owners tried to locate near the best diggings.

A successful miner's house
The multi-room cabin was an unusual structure at most mining camps. The miners usually lived in one room shacks.

Living at the site was the most sensible place as one could watch out for high-graders.
