Col. Tex Hill, CO of the 23rd Fighter Group and his P-51 at Kweilin, China, late in 1944; the P-40's "Warhawk-Flying Tiger", were replaced with P-51's after four years.

This P-51B, of the 9th Air Force, 355th Fighter Squadron, 354th Fighter Group, is being readied to return to the air, in England early in the Big War.

This F-82 Twin Mustang was used in the Korean War, in the early 1950's. It had a range of 4000 miles.

This F-51 was used as a chase plane, as late as 1978. It was the fastest fighter in the USAAF, prior to the Jet Age.

This flight of Mustangs includes one P-51B and three P-51D's, over England, in the middle Forties.

This Early P-51B went from a Curtiss P-40 canopy to a Spitfire-type bubble canopy, early in the Battle of Britain.

This P-51 was a prototype tested by the Army Air Corps in 1940.
